Climbing Adventures at North Bend State Park

This past Sunday we headed out to North Bend State Park, WV, for a much-needed climbing session after a few weeks off the wall. Fall is settling in, and the crisp air made for perfect conditions to shake the dust off our gear and get back to doing what we love.

When we arrived, we met a husband and wife who were visiting the climbing area for the first time. It was an especially big day for her—it was her very first time rappelling. We showed them the trail that leads down to the walls and stuck around to take a video of her first rappel. It was awesome to witness someone stepping outside their comfort zone and taking on something completely new.

After that, we geared up and hopped on The Big Easy, the name is misleading. From there, we moved on to Dilemma, which served up a bit more of a challenge—just enough to remind us that our muscles aren’t quite in mid-season form yet. Let’s just say we’re definitely feeling the burn today.

All in all, it was a solid day back on the rock, with great company, beautiful weather, and the kind of energy that reminds us why we keep coming back.
